00:01So I had a three-day weekend this weekend, so I got a fair amount of work done in the
00:04van.
00:05Still a lot to do, but I thought I'd give a little bit of an update.
00:08So I'm still at my girlfriend's parents' house. They've been really kind and letting me work here.
00:13Here's my main workstation tucked behind the back of their house.
00:16I got to borrow some of their saws too. Their air compressor, I've been using a bunch.
00:20They're nailing nails. It's really, really helpful. It makes it fast.
00:24But here's the good old van.
00:27So I'm still living in it full-time, so every single time I got a work on it, I pull
00:31out all my work gear, all my living gear.
00:33It's kind of a pain in the butt, and I got to load it all back up every night.
00:37But, so I finished up more or less on the sofa bed, and I'll put in a little video of
00:44showing how that works.
01:06And then, so back here's going to be the propane tank, and I'll talk more about that later, but it's
01:10going to be safe. Don't worry.
01:12And over here's the drawers.
01:16So there's four drawers. One, two, three, four.
01:20But I've only been able to cut two out so far.
01:22I'm trying to make them kind of seamless. I got the handles, but I haven't put them on yet.
01:27So drawer, drawer, and two small ones because of the wheelway on the other side.
01:34And then we come around on this side, and I'll talk about the countertop in a second.
01:40But over here is going to be, so this is how I access the gray water from my sink.
01:46And I just pull that out and empty that wherever, or properly.
01:51The really cool thing I like about it is if I close this door, I can't open this anymore.
01:58I made it so that it catches on that little nub, so that seals off completely.
02:02And over here is more storage.
02:07I haven't screwed in the hinges yet, but this is more for when you're cooking.
02:11So you access it from over here, and you can get into that storage there.
02:15And what I really want to do, I don't know if I'll have time or resources,
02:18is what they call Lazy Susie's, Lazy Sandie's, but a miniature one in there that I can just spin around.
02:23I think it'd be cool.
02:25And let's see what else.
02:27Oh, that just came off because I haven't screwed it in yet.
02:29I still haven't done the countertop up here.
02:31Still haven't ordered Solo.
02:33I should do that soon.
02:35Solar.
02:36And big old mess here.
02:37I've been trying to register this fan for so long, so I bought insurance on it.
02:41And I had the safety and emissions done.
02:45But the problem is I work pretty much all week long at least.
02:49And DMV is only open during the week.
02:53And I bought this fan 40 to 50 days ago, and I think I have to register it within like
03:0060 days.
03:01I'm a little bit concerned.
03:03Hopefully I can get it registered next weekend.
03:06But let's continue.
03:08Let me set up this countertop real quick, and I'll show you how the countertop's going to work.
03:11It's not done yet.
03:14So this is the countertop.
03:15It's actually bamboo hardwood flooring that I got at this used place.
03:21They had some leftovers.
03:22Really, really cheap.
03:23I paid like $10 for it.
03:25And it's normally like $6 a square foot.
03:28But of course, I'll cut off the angle and stuff.
03:31And the sink I'm really excited about.
03:33I bought this stainless steel bowl.
03:35Really cheap.
03:36Just a mixing bowl.
03:37But I'm going to cut out a circle and just inlaid that so it's completely flush with the countertop.
03:42Nice stainless steel.
03:43And then for the water, I'm going to have a system.
03:46Water surge is going to be up here.
03:48I have a big 10 liter Camelback.
03:50And either with, probably with a water hose coming along here, dropping down here.
03:57And I'll put copper piping around just so it looks a bit more classy.
04:00Just a gravity fed system into the bowl.
04:03And that'll be for my dishes and stuff.
04:05And for the stove, the stove is going to pull out here.
04:08And I haven't figured out exactly everything I want to do with that.
04:14Because I can't really put a vent there.
04:18So, of course, I'll have the windows open when I'm cooking and stuff.
04:21And I'll take proper safety precautions for the propane.
04:25But I'm worried I'm going to damage some of this stuff.
04:30It's just like cloth.
04:35But I'm guessing I'm going to damage it a bit.
04:37Which I'm not too worried about.
04:38Because then I'll just replace it with tinfoil stuff.
04:41So, I think I'll just see how it goes for now.
04:44And what else is new?
04:46I bought a memory foam topper for really, really cheap.
04:49I was surprised how expensive foam was to buy just straight foam.
04:52So, I ended up buying this once opened but never used memory foam topper.
04:56And I'll combine that with some other foam that I have.
04:59This camping foam.
05:00And I got all the fabric for the upholstery.
05:02Let me go grab that real quick.
05:04So, this is the fabric for the upholstery I'm going to do.
05:08Just durable.
05:09And I think it'll kind of match the curtains and stuff.
05:12Not too worried.
05:13And how it's going to be here.
05:14I'm going to cut the memory foam up into two separate things.
05:18I'm going to get all these tools out of the way.
05:20And I'll have it so there's two long, about, it's a six and a half foot bed.
05:27But two sections, boom, and one over here.
05:30Normally when you're sitting, and it's fairly comfortable.
05:33I set it around with other ones.
05:34And then when I open up the bed, it's going to fold down so the whole thing is just one
05:38big bed.
05:39And it should be good.
05:41And what's really cool is I left these two seatbelts in.
05:46And I repurposed the seatbelt receivers so they fit well.
05:50So I can still use these seatbelts back here.
05:53Of course it won't be as safe as the original seats.
05:55But it's still, if someone wants to hop in for a ride, they can still do it kind of legally.
05:59Not too sure, but I'm not too worried either.
06:02But I get that.
06:03That's going to be really nice, being able to actually drive more than two people in this vehicle.
06:08And that's about it, I believe.
06:12I would keep working, but my batteries are dead.
06:15So I've got to go charge them.
06:17And I'm off to work tomorrow morning at like 7 a.m.
06:19Well, that's when I start work, so I'll wake up at like 4, 5.
06:23And I'll be gone for like between 4 and 18 days.
06:27And I'll be back for two days.
06:29So I'll be able to get a fair amount of work done in those two days back.
06:31Not sure when I'll be though.
06:34But yeah, still got work to do.
06:36Staying everything, still got a picnic trim.
06:38But it's coming together well.
06:40I'm pretty excited.
06:41Girlfriend's been helping.
06:42She hasn't gotten too frustrated, which is good.
06:44It's a pain.
06:45Like all the drawers are like miniature little screws that aren't possible to screw in.
06:49They strip all the screws.
06:52Yep.
06:52I got to get going.
06:54But yeah, I hope you guys like how it's coming along.
06:57Because I really like how it's coming.
06:59I've been filming the whole thing.
07:01And I'll post a video of building the whole building process.
07:04And as well as like a full tour when I'm done.
07:07But for now, I thought I'd give you an update.
07:09And tell you how everything's going.
07:10Because it's going well.
07:11Bye-bye.
07:11Bye-bye.
07:11Bye-bye.
07:12Bye-bye.
