May 14, 2010 · If your looking at a 1150 then go with the 06, it is said to be the best of the best 1150's. If your looking at the 1200's then the 08's seem to have least problems. As for the new 1200's they haven't been out long enough to have a true test. Only time will tell.

Jan 27, 2022 · The good thing is BMW gave the option of turning the ABS on/off with the push of a button on the left handlebar. Still many manufacturers do not have a ABS on/off button. If you encounter offroad to need to pull a fuse. BMW does push the tech envelope and sometimes they get winners and other time not so much. But if you never try you never grow.

Nov 19, 2008 · Right now there is a crap load (over 450) 1200 gs bike listed in cycle trader and many 2009 for $8-10k range. The 2010 bumps up about 3k or more. I am thinking get a low use solid 2009 to see how much i like it and maybe trade up after a few years.

May 30, 2010 · I am looking to pickup a R1200GS or maybe even an older model; I am on a budget and found one 07 BMW R1200GS Adventure with almost 30K miles - is that high miles for a BMW? (I know with most streetbikes Ive owned I considered 10K a lot!) Could I take something with this kind of mileage halfway across the world without constant breakdowns?

Mar 18, 2012 · I want to do the BMW off-road skills course and noticed that they advertise the F800GS as "difficult" skill level and the 1200GS as "medium". I am 5'7" and 70 kilos so assumed that the F800 would be lighter and therefore better for me. However it is considerably taller than the 1200 with a low seat.
