Mar 27, 2006 · The Polyester stuff labeled "yacht marline" with the wax coating is fantastic stuff. I have worked with miles of it, it produces excellent service and seizings. Seine twine is also a highly utilized substitute for traditional marline but for many applications I prefer the synthetic marline mentioned above.

May 16, 2019 · Originaly the pond yacht model compition of the R boat were used to raise funds to sent the boat back to the R Boat Nationals at Larchmont NY back in the mid twenties. With West Coast skipper Matt Walsh at the helm "Pirate" won the R Nationals that year and brought the trophy back to the West Coast.

Like a full size boat, a set of plans does not guarantee success, and I am looking for a pond yacht that for sure works. meanwhile the paper kayak continues to heal, and the new skiff is ready to "plank" (1 piece plywood sides, cross planked bottom).

This was increased to ten boats and crews with a skipper, mate and 3 crew members to each crew who normally sailed together during their membership of the club.

Jun 19, 2006 · Chapelle 'yacht' type I like the true Chesapeake type deadrise boat (skipjack) but that is the second boat type discussed in the text. Chapelle considers the modified sharpie (1st type) and the 'yacht' (3rd type) to be more seaworthy than the skipjack because of its larger beam.

Nov 28, 2022 · Re: Tripled planked yacht repair. Raven- You just have to keep cutting back to good wood. Dry is best for epoxy, of course. I just finished rebuilding the stern of a large cold molded boat, (4 layers: 3 diagonal 3/8" then 3/4" fore and aft. all in epoxy.
