Vertex 150 impeller replacement | Reef2Reef
May 21, 2024 · My Vertex Omega 150 will occasionally not suck water into the pump when recovering from a power flicker. Need to replace this before it happens while I'm on vaca. I'm not sure if today's skimmers are better/quieter and worth the exchange. Was thinking the Octopus. I have their return pump and it's 100% silent. the Vertex is quiet but not silent.

Oct 7, 2012 · My vertex omega 150 pump impeller has some ceramic that chipped off. I was interested in a replacing the whole pump if possible. Quick search got me the tunze 9420 but I didn't know if another pump could work. Or if a aftermarket impeller shaft is available and a option. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I was able to source (from China) matches for the PVC fittings, and I modified some Home Depot PVC connections to make a near exact clone of the Vertex OEM pump. Aug 18, 2017 · I have been using a Vertex Omega 130 on my tank for nearly a year now. If it doesn't start near immediately after applying power check for an obstruction in the pump. It is easily disassembled for cleaning. Mine too overflowed like crazy when my tank was cycling and the skimmer was brand new.
