It was originally 11" long and 1/8' thick. After marketing the blade in a magazine, in late 1982 ,Tom Brown decided to go in a different direction with a different maker from his school of tracking.

Jun 8, 2024 · The Wilkinson's knife in the field did what it said on the tin, the blade held a good edge, & it was an expensive piece of kit compared to the Wilkinson Sword type D survival knife. I never used the hollow handle of the knife, I would have preferred a custom handle on the knife, but hollow handles were all the rage back then.

I bought it out of curiosity to see what you end up with for $9. I have given no thought to what I would want to keep in the handle. The handle has a fairly large cavity.

Oct 12, 2017 · People successfully hunt solo with spears still to this day and laying wait for something to come by doesn't take that much skill. I personally like options, if I have the option to lash a knife to a pole to use as a spear or whatever else even better especially if it is a survival knife (which are/should be bigger/longer than a bushcraft knife).
