Back that time AAP had big coupons that could bring the battery price to about $150 each for the H8 which was a quite great deal but now they kicked battery out of the coupon list.

Nov 28, 2023 · I tested the battery with a battery tester, it passes every test except the CCA test. It's passing state of health at 76% and state of charge is at 100%, measured CCA is 828 of the 900 CCA, Battery doesn't seem to be losing voltage, its at 12.78-12.86V. I think I am going to replace it I don't want to risk blowing the aux battery.

Jan 17, 2023 · Battery size calculators mostly show H6 but several other sources state H8. Local MB Parts only has AmpHr requirement (100) not the size or class. It does seem from this forum and FB Navion group that H8 is the go-to. However, MB told me that if I swap from flooded to AGM battery, the Sprinter would have to be 're-coded'.

Dec 12, 2024 · In a "real" MB Aux Battery system, the "connection" happens under the driver's seat. Bolted on to the starter battery's positive post (and tucked down beside it) is a "pre-fuse" chunk of metal with a bunch of fuses attached. One of them goes off to the Aux battery, passing through an isolation relay (the E36 option) also under the driver's seat.

There's an "isolation" relay that disconnects that link when the engine is off (so the starter battery does not see whatever loads are on the Aux battery).
