This project was inspired by Bloxstrap, an open-source, alternative bootstrapper for Roblox. Bloxstrap is what introduced me to the Roblox modding community. This project, my Roblox mods and my modding tool would not have existed without it.

Whenever Roblox launches, all the files in the mods folder are copied to the version folder. For example, placing a file at content\sounds\ouch.ogg in the mods folder will automatically replace content\sounds\ouch.ogg in the version folder. In this case, it replaces the death sound.

May 24, 2023 · In this case, it replaces the death sound, which the old death sound preset does. This replacement process is performed and checked every time that Roblox is launched. When you remove a file from the mods folder, Bloxstrap restores the original version of the file the next time Roblox launches, if there was an original version.

Bloxstrap is a third-party replacement for the standard Roblox bootstrapper, providing additional useful features and improvements. Running into a problem or need help with something?
