Apr 1, 2020 · The answer by Mokubai solved the issue for me. I used control panel add or remove a program. When I tried to uninstall an old program it opened the uninstaller and completed the uninstall but still left the program on the list. I eventually realised that I needed to make the uninstaller unfindable.

But I have multiple versions of that program, all with the same name, so changing that key is not going to help. To find what it actually points to, you have to go to (in my case) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-966747605-1980359026-2421819745-1000\Software\Classes\Applications\LibreOfficeWriterPortable.exe\shell\open\command

If so, you can try to use PowerShell Commands "Get-AppxPackage" to check the program info and then use "Remove-AppxPackage -Package -AllUsers" to uninstall it. I have tested it on my own Windows 10, after login with another user, command "Remove-AppxPackage -Package ” will report “Package was not found”.
