Protein alignments and features are loaded from RCSB PDB web services including the main data API and the 1D Coordinate Server .

RCSB PDB's 3D Viewer has new options for viewing crystal structure electron density maps and for visualizing ligand-macromolecule interactions. All features are described in the 3D View User Guide.

A typical PDB formatted file includes a large "header" section of text that summarizes the protein, citation information, and the details of the structure solution, followed by the sequence and a long list of the atoms and their coordinates.

Feb 28, 2025 · The rcsb-api package provides a Python interface to the RCSB PDB Search and Data APIs (an overview has been published in Journal for Molecular Biology). Use the rcsbapi.search module to fetch lists of PDB IDs corresponding to advanced query searches, and the rcsbapi.data module to fetch data about a given set of structure IDs.
