Press Windows key + R Type: appwiz.cpl Hit Enter Click View installed updates Select the recent update Right click it then click uninstall. Restart then see if you can now play VOB files. POWER DVD DX will play the disks when the disks are in the draw but I cant get my computer to use POWER DVD DX to play them from from the harddrive. My computer will ask me to select a program from the list that I want to use to run play the V.O.B. file but Power DVD DX is not on the list and I cant get it on the list.

Aug 14, 2015 · When I just open the Windows DVD player, it just tells me "To Play Something, insert a dvd". There is no file open option etc. So, I cannot figure out how to use the Windows DVD player to open a VOB file that I copied from a DVD. I contacted Microsoft support through their chat line, and I couldn't get any sort of intelligible answer from him.
