Aug 22, 2010 · I just purchased a C96 9mm Broomhandle Mauser. It is brand new still in the box and chambered for 9mm. The label on the box is IAR, Inc. Serial # 47151. It looks in new condition too. There is a parts booklet with a date of 1998. If I can get the cosmoline off. Not real bad but it has gotten hard, so it will take a little work.

Jul 21, 2012 · I mentioned earlier I have what I call a "Belgian C96". This gun is a bit of a mystery in that it appears to have been completely reworked by the Belgians. All German marks, but one, have been removed and replaced by Belgian proofs. The grips appear to be after-market 12 line. The gun has an un-numbered rear sight that has the 900 meter setting.

May 19, 2018 · Mauser was famous for skipping around with the s/n's as they were manufactured, but the Original Prussian Contract for 150,000 Red Nines from 1916-1918 ended with a s/n around 139,000. These were the only guns mfg by Mauser that had the "9" carved in the grip.
