Jan 24, 2024 · For a V8 CJ7 with a single exit, I'd recommend checking out the Flowmaster Super 44. It delivers that classic V8 growl without being overly obnoxious during cruising. The 2.25" pipe should work well with it, considering your clearance concerns. It strikes a nice balance between a powerful tone and maintaining a conversation inside the cabin.
which engine size is best in a Jeep CJ7
Jan 30, 2007 · I'm looking to buy a Jeep CJ7, which is the best all around engine to go with, a V8, 6, or 4 cyl.? Does the 4 cyl. have enought power. How about torque, are they close or is the V8 way ahead of the 4 cyl. New to Jeeps, figured I'd ask the experts. Thanks for your help.

Aug 30, 2009 · if it is a motorcraft 2100/2150, they are easy to Rebuild for a novice. I like the 2100/2150 carbs and my runs cherry. good off road, needs a little adjustment for altitude, and gets OK mileage for a 304 jeep plus you get to stay original. As to heat problems, make sure you reinstall the "heat gasket" below the carb.

It has great low end torque and will do 70 on the freeway with the right gearing, etc. Jeep werent designed to do burnouts and produce gutbusting HP and TQ...
Have 1983 Jeep CJ-7 and want to install V8 engine
Apr 14, 2016 · I want to pull the 4 cylinder engine and install a simple used v8 short block car berated engine like a Chevy 350. I would like inputs from other jeep owners who have done similar 4 cylinder to v8 conversion on an old CJ7 like my 83 and know how involved it is. I would appreciate What v8 engine would be easiest to install.

Feb 20, 2007 · If you are going from 258 to AMC V8, you can use your same power steering pump on the V8 brackets. You will need a different pressure hose. The return hose is easy to lengthen or shorten. The pilot bushing has to fit the crankshaft and the trans input. The 258 and the AMC V8's use the same size outside diameter pilot bushing.

Feb 10, 2020 · Well OK - I'll jump in. Heavy Duty Flame Suit On. I use the following oil & oil filter in my 1979 Jeep CJ5 304 V8 . . . . . Valvoline VR1 10W-30 (Non-Synthetic). I change the oil with the oil filter twice a year. I put maybe 2,000 - 3,000 miles on my Jeep per year. I purchase the oil and oil filter from Summit Racing.
