File:/// protocol that was working in IE and opening XSLT from XML is not working in MSEDGE. --allow-file-access-from-files command line option or using MS Edge IE mode these are the work arounds.

May 26, 2019 · SeitzM, open your file using the current version of Microsoft Word instead of using a browser. This will more than likely render the file correctly. It's an extra step, but it works. I hope this helps until Microsuck can get Outlook to work as it's supposed to.
