You can control the vertical space between the lines of text in your document by setting the line spacing. Or, you can change the vertical space between paragraphs in your document by setting the spacing before or spacing after paragraphs.

Select the paragraphs you want to change. Select Home > Line and Paragraph Spacing, and choose the spacing you want. To customize spacing, select Line Spacing Options. Change paragraph indents and spacing Select one or more paragraphs to adjust. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, select the Dialog Box Launcher. Choose the Indents and Spacing tab. Choose your settings and select OK. The Paragraph dialog box options are described in Adjust indents and spacing.

If you want to increase or decrease the amount of space between items in a bulleted or numbered list, do this: Select the entire bulleted list. Select Home, and then select Paragraph> Line Spacing. Choose the number of line spaces you want from the drop-down menu or create custom line spacing by choosing Line Spacing Options.

Go to Design > Document Formatting > Paragraph Spacing > Custom Paragraph Spacing. Select the Set Defaults tab, and then in the Paragraph Spacing section, for Line Spacing, select Single.
