The Gewehr 43 or Karabiner 43 (abbreviated G43, K43, Gew 43, Kar 43) is a 7.92×57mm Mauser caliber semi-automatic rifle developed by Germany during World War II. The design was based on that of the earlier G41(W) but incorporated an improved short-stroke piston gas system similar to that of the Soviet SVT-40 .

The StG-44 chambered the smaller intermediate rifle round - the 7.92x33mm Kurz. During the latter stages of the war an unknown number of G43s were adapted to fire the new Kurz cartridge. This gives them a fleeting resemblance to the US M2 Carbine, however the Kurz was a much more powerful round than the M2’s .30 carbine.

The Gewehr 43 was one of three semi-automatic rifles issued by Germany (the others being the FG 42 and the Gewehr 41) during WWII. This weapon itself was an evolution of the Gewehr 41 (made by Mauser and Walther).

May 3, 2019 · Like the title says, this is a G-43 rifle chambered in 7.92x33mm Kurz, fed from standard Sturmgewehr 30 round box magazines. According to the data card, this rifle IS select fire. This rifle was created after failed experiments with full auto G-43's being neigh uncontrollable in 8mm mauser.

Sep 11, 2022 · I have picked the 43 Kurz on both Normandy and Berlin. (And keep tranfering both back and forth to be able to have 2 of them on the same campaign at all times) It's still the only gold order weapon in the game that I have felt was worth the battlepass grind.
