FWIW, all high hood GP40's were built for NW. The high hood GP40's that Guilford owns are units that had been sold off by NS to Helm leasing and Helm traded the 6 units to Guilford for their 5 SD40's.

I bought a high hood from CMR of eBay and cut the low nose off of my go40-2 and started to roughly place he nose with the body. Got some loose plastic I need to shave/sand off but overall I'm happy so far. I can't seem to find the sill for the gp40 so I used a old gp38 I had laying around.

May 25, 2008 · Great looking model. Didn't know there were any high hood GP40's. One thing before you paint. Look at the fan housings,they are reversed on the Aristo model. Should be lower one on dynamic brake and taller on hood end. Your prototype photos show it pretty clear. I have brought this up before on the Aristo forum about the SD45 and now the GP40.
