Land of the Lost is a 1974–1976 TV series relating the adventures of the Marshall family (including Will and Holly and their father, later replaced by their uncle). The Marshalls become trapped in a pocket universe populated by dinosaurs, ape-like creatures called Pakuni, and anthropomorphic reptilian creatures named Sleestak.

Portrayed as the original free-willed sentient species of the Land of the Lost under the leadership of The Zarn, they were enslaved by the Tachyon-manipulating Enik after he killed the Zarn and forced into a war-like disposition until Enik was sealed within the Central Pylon.

Enik is a major recurring character in the Land of the Lost. He was played by Walker Edmiston. Enik resembles a Sleestak, but he is more orange/brown in color with a broader mouth, and doesn't make the hissing breathing sound that is associated with the Sleestak.

The Marshalls discover the ruins of a lost city and encounter dangerous lizard-men known as Sleestak. Didja Notice? The water jugs carried by Will and Holly throughout the episode …

Before they are able to meet up with their father, Will and Holly are abducted by three upright lizard looking creatures, who they assume are the Sleestak, and of who Cha-Ka is scared.

They are the descendants of the Altrusians who ruled their homeworld eons ago. They first appeared in the second episode of season one of the original Land of the Lost television series, "The Sleestak God". They were also featured in the 2009 Land of the Lost feature film.

While searching for edible food, the Marshalls discover a cave in which they find a mounted, glowing lozenge which seems to jerk them as they near it. The family is interrupted by the arrival of six Sleestak, and Rick threatens them with the lozenge.

Altrusians are an ancient alien race who created the Land of the Lost. They later devolved into creatures called Sleestak. Enik is a member of their earlier, more advanced form.

Jan 7, 2005 · These creatures are defined as being green in color, having large, black eyes, no fingers (thumbs and four fingers grouped as part of the hand), and webbed feet. They also emit a hissing sound when agitated. They are known to have evolved into a species that can communicate through speech.

In the movie, the Sleestaks serve as primary antagonists. Originally, they were under the leadership of The Zarn, but they were enslaved by the Tachyon-manipulating Enik after he killed him.
