May 14, 2023 · My understanding has been that Disk Cleanup removes and deletes outdated and useless Windows system files and the Defragmentation re-arranges my computer's files and folders that are related to each other to be more closely placed together to improve both system and software performance.

I am wanting to di a defragment and a disk clean up but when doing these i want to make sure it is not going to clear the cache or cookies as i have to get approval for some sites and want to be able to start work right away woth out those. Will running the software too often harm the computer? there's a lot of different answers to this. personally i defrag when it's greater than 10% fragmented. disk clean-up i do every week.

Mar 25, 2016 · Where is "Disk Cleanup" and "Disk Defrag" in w10? Windows is needed to clean once a while. Open File Explorer > This PC. Select a drive-letter. Click the Manage tab (Drive Tools) You can start "Optimize" (defrag) or Cleanup (Disk Cleanup) from there.

Apr 15, 2016 · I have Windows 10. I opened the disk defragmenter. It showed that my system disk was 22% fragmented. I clicked "Analyze". It told me that the disk was 45% fragmented. I clicked "optimize" and it instantaneously returned me to 22% fragmented. I clicked "Optimize" again and just returned the same 22%. How do I get windows to actually defragment ...
