Oct 13, 2015 · On a self hosted Gitlab instance I've been able to create projects and import the repos from a remote repository (a local git server). The process should be similar for a local repository. You could setup a local git server on your machine and use that as the import_url for each Gitlab project.

May 16, 2015 · After adding, click "Copy SSH public key" button next to your repository link. In GitHub, go to your target repository page and navigate Settings > Deploy keys, click to Add deploy key button and paste your public SSH key which was generated by GitLab. Don't forget to check Allow write access checkbox as GitLab will require write access to mirror.
