Point-to-multipoint OSPF network type over frame-relay is what I like to call the “cheater method”. Why? Well, you do NOT need a DR and you do NOT need neighbor commands. It is very simple.

If we were to put point-to-point on the spokes, but try to change our multipoint sub-interface on the hub to a point-to-point OSPF network type we’d run into all sorts of fun problems.
