Navy must regroup quickly after suffering its first loss of the season with a trip to Notre Dame on tap this Saturday.
The Midshipmen couldn’t finish drives and allowed more than 400 total yards to North Texas in suffering their first loss of the season.
At least all those misses didn't cost them a victory, like the botched extra point after Notre Dame scored the go-ahead touchdown with 2:53 left against then-No. 16 Texas A&M. The Aggies took advantage by rallying for a 41-40 victory.

Notre Dame fans need to root for surprising teams outside of the Irish vs. Navy to keep strengthening their CFB playoff standing
In order to help their cause, however, some other teams having underwhelming performances would also be a big help. Fighting Irish fans should not just be rooting for Notre Dame against Navy this weekend. There are several games that could also have huge implications on their playoff picture.
The last three lost fumbles by Notre Dame football running backs belong to Jadarian Price, dating to the Louisville game in 2024.
Linebacker Xavier Griffin (Gainesville, Georgia/ Gainesville High School) was officially honored as a 2026 Navy All-American by America’s Navy and NBC Sports representatives during a live jersey presentation as part of the Road to the Dome tour.
