Switches are better suited for this function than hubs. For setting up a home network that will connect to the Internet, use a router or a modem with a built-in router.

Why not just connect the switch to one of the wired ports on the router? Then just set the network interface preference order such that if Ethernet is connected, to prefer using that for all traffic.

If you have a dual-band Wi-Fi router, switch it from 2.4GHz to 5GHz if available. The Nintendo Switch supports both, and the faster band might help fix any internet or Wi-Fi connection issues.
