Select the cape and hit 'Save and Use' in the bottom right corner. After applying the changes, you can head to the game and check out the cape by entering a world and pressing F5 to change the camera.

The players owning both the Bedrock and Java editions before June 6th, 2022, received Vanilla Cape as part of the thank-you gift from Mojang. The Cape is available in both versions of the game.
