A date table in Power BI must meet the following requirements, whether it’s an Auto table or one you create: It must have a column named Date that’s a date/time data type.

Although Power BI will create an internal date table for you, it won’t always produce the filtering and grouping requirements you need. When this happens, you can create the date table yourself.
